UNFI Foundation Announces 2015 Cycle 2 Grantees

June 5, 2015

In the second cycle of 2015, the UNFI Foundation awarded $183,000 to 7 organizations working to promote organic food systems. Over 50% of this cycle’s funding was granted to important research projects like The Organic Center’s study to compare soil health on organic and conventional farms. The Organic Center will also used grant funds to study human exposure to chemicals and hormones from consumption of milk. The Organic Farming Research Foundation will use funds to develop practical guides to help organic farmers apply research and improve their farming systems.

Grants were also made to Seed Savers Exchange, leaders in promoting seed biodiversity, to improve their online seed exchange and Pie Ranch for their organic farmer training program.

We are excited to share the work of these great projects throughout the year! Click here for a full list of grantees.
