This year, UNFI turns 50 — and the UNFI Foundation is marking the milestone by investing in the future. Through its 50 for 50 initiative, the Foundation will award 50 grants across all 50 U.S. states in 2026.

Our Goal

In 2025, the UNFI Foundation made its largest investment ever: 80 grants totaling $1.8 million to nonprofits across North America, in dozens of U.S. states.

Over the course of this year, the Foundation plans to distribute $2 million to programs that strengthen local food systems across all 50 states and Canada.
