Aliona Mikhed
Director
Sales Manager, UNFI
After graduating college, Aliona spent two years serving in the National Civilian Community Corps, an AmeriCorps program that serves underprivileged communities around the US through projects focusing on natural disaster recovery, environmental stewardship and conservation, urban and rural development, and education. It was during her final project, working on organic farms in low-income communities around Colorado, that she came to learn more about the lack of equity in the food system, which eventually lead her to starting her career at UNFI.
In her ten years with the company, Aliona has continued to learn and grow in her positions – having started out as a Sales Analyst for a supermarket chain in NYC, she now leads the National Sales team as a Sales Manager for e-commerce platforms and foodservice. Outside of her role at UNFI, Aliona is part of the Women’s Integrated Network Belonging and Inclusion Group cabinet, a member of the Functional Learning Council, the sales lead for our Feeding America project, and for the past two years has served on the Board of Directors of the UNFI Foundation.
Outside of work, Aliona spends her time traveling, hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
