African Alliance of Rhode Island

The African Alliance of Rhode Island (AARI) was founded in 2004 to promote unity within the African Communities in Rhode Island, advocate for the rights of Africans in RI, and educate the American public about Africa while elevating the profile of the continent and facilitating linkages between Americans and Africans. Today, AARI provides a range of services to low-income people of all origins and ethnicities, including many refugees and immigrants living in Providence.

Food Project Inc.

The Food Project’s mission is to create a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. Our community produces healthy food for underserved residents of Greater Boston and the North Shore in Massachusetts.

Federation of Neighborhood Centers Inc.

The mission of Double Trellis Food Initiative is to serve as an immediate stopgap for the most food-insecure individuals in marginalized communities of Philadelphia in a way that is both culturally relevant and grounded in human dignity and social justice, while also working to directly address some of the root causes of food insecurity through our workforce development program, educational nutrition workshops, and food justice advocacy work.

Trellis For Tomorrow

Trellis for Tomorrow fosters compassion and resilience in people and inspires them to build sustainable communities. Our work positively impacts food security by engaging youth in garden-based, paid work experiences, and organizational partners in on-site volunteer garden work. Both initiatives provide fresh produce to neighbors in need and ultimately improve food system sustainability in the greater Philadelphia area.

LEAF Project Inc.

LEAF Project’s mission is to cultivate youth leaders from diverse backgrounds through meaningful work in the food system. The LEAF Project’s model and mission are now more important than ever. Our region is experiencing both a serious crisis in youth mental health resulting from disconnection over the last 2 years and serious problems in our food system from the pandemic resulting in profound disruption in the food supply chain and a deeper awareness of how close to food insecurity many are.

La Cocina VA

La Cocina VA DBA Kitchen of Purpose uses the power of food as an agent for social and economic change and providing healthy food assistance in the Washington, D.C. area. We offer bilingual, vocational and technical education to underserved people of color, especially women. At the Zero Barriers Training and Entrepreneurship Center, Kitchen of Purpose is expanding our Job Training Programs, building a strong Small Business Incubator, and scaling up the Food Assistance Program.

Guidestone

Guidestone’s Farm to School Program provides fresh, local produce and education to Salida School District (SSD) and the Salida community. Recently, through a local food assessment community feedback process, Guidestone is seeing increased food insecurity in our valley due to economic pressures from COVID-19, the closure of the largest produce farm within an hour, and the closure of the only local grocery carrying significant amounts of locally produced foods.

Forage

Our mission is to cultivate and sustain a resilient local food community in North Central Florida through collaboration, economic opportunity, education, and seed stewardship.
