Local Food Economies

San Diego Food System Alliance

The San Diego Food System Alliance (the Alliance) is a diverse and inclusive network that works across sectors to promote collaboration, influence policy, and catalyze transformation in the food system. Our work is grounded in our shared platform, San Diego County Food Vision 2030 (sdfoodvision2030.org), and informed by the experience and expertise of our network and the broader community. Together, we are cultivating justice, fighting climate change, and building resilience in our food system.

Ecosystems of Care

Ecosystems of Care works to build stronger and more just systems of food, information, and resources, to forge connections across neighbors, and generate community power.

Market Box, the core project of Ecosystems of Care, bulk-buys food from small farms and distributes it for free across the South Side of Chicago. In supporting our local food ecosystem and our communities, we seek to reimagine how neighbors can act with accountability towards each other and generate community power in the face of government neglect.

Community Food and Agriculture Coalition (CFAC)

CFAC's mission is to grow a healthy local food community by preserving farmland, teaching new farmers, and making food accessible for all. CFAC works to grow robust, healthy statewide and regional food systems and a stronger community through the advancement of local, nutritious, culturally appropriate food accessibility for all Montanans, the support and training of beginning farmers and ranchers and farmland conservation efforts.
