Mountain Roots Food Project

Mountain Roots Food Project cultivates a resilient and equitable food system in Gunnison Valley, Colorado, by enhancing healthy connections between earth, food, and community. We foster knowledge, teach skills, and provide opportunities that ensure access to affordable, nutritious food that is regionally based and sustainably produced.

Mount Carmel Health Wellness and Community Center

Since 2011, Mt. Carmel operated an integrated healthcare clinic offering primary care, behavioral health, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, wellness education, and youth programming. In January 2018, Salud Family Health Center took over operation of the primary care and behavioral health services. Mt. Carmel continues to offer wellness education, prevention services, and youth programs. Mt.

Chatham Outreach Alliance Inc.

CORA is a nonprofit organization that serves residents in need of food within Chatham County. Our ultimate goal at CORA is to build a community without hunger by soliciting, collecting, and purchasing food for distribution through our Food Pantry. CORA is meeting food insecurity needs for families making 200% of the poverty level ($51,500/year for a family of four). CORA is a critical source of relief that will provide safe and nutritious foods to approximately 18,000 food-insecure individuals in Chatham County 2019/2020.
