Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center

Established in 2008, Olivewood Gardens is a 7.85-acre educational garden located in National City, CA. Our property acts as a resource for community members to explore health education, environmental stewardship, and community connection. Olivewood Gardens mission is to inspire youth and adults to be healthy and active citizens through organic gardening, environmental stewardship, and nutrition education.

Eats Park City

EATS stands for Eat Awesome Things and began in 2013 concerned with the goal of removing the 15 most harmful ingredients from school lunch. Fast forward to where scratch-made lunch has now become a reality in all seven of the school district’s elementary and middle schools. With school lunch now on a healthier path, EATS remains dedicated to its mission of empowering and growing healthy communities with fun, food, and nutrition advocacy.

18 Reasons

18 Reasons is a nonprofit community cooking school on a mission to empower our community with the confidence and creativity needed to buy, cook, and eat good food every day. We offer three food education programs: our 18th Street Kitchen program, which raises money through ticket sales; and our free Cooking Matters and Nourishing Pregnancy programs for families in low-income neighborhoods, which offer cooking and nutrition education, grocery donations, maternal health support, and peer support.

Land to Learn Inc.

Land to Learn is a growing garden-based education program that serves more than 5,000 children in New York’s Hudson Valley. We strive for food justice and community wellness through garden-based education. In the communities that need it most, we work to empower our students so that they have the knowledge, social and emotional skills, perspective, and encouragement needed to understand and address challenges in their communities, starting with brave healthy eating and academic success.

Indy Hunger Network

Indy Hunger Network (IHN) is a collective impact organization composed of leading anti-hunger organizations working together to make a hunger-free Indianapolis. IHN and partner organizations collaborate to regularly identify opportunities to build a more efficient and effective food assistance system. IHN advocates for food justice by focusing efforts on improving access to healthy food for all and working to address higher rates of food insecurity in African American and immigrant communities.

Harlem Grown Inc.

Harlem Grown is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire youth to lead healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition.

Foodcorps Inc.

FoodCorps believes in a future where every child—regardless of race, place, or class—gets the nourishment they need to thrive. We partner with people dedicated to creating that future: from educators and school leaders, to national alliances and community-based organizations, to our AmeriCorps service members and students themselves. We collaborate with these peers to demonstrate the power of food in schools and ensure our country’s systems work together to nurture every child’s potential.

Druid City Garden Project

Schoolyard Roots cultivates curiosity and connections through hands-on learning gardens. We engage communities with food and nature to inspire, delight, and bring classroom concepts to life. We grow vegetables, fruits, and flowers in school gardens and teach students how to prepare healthful, delicious recipes. By providing our students with engaging, hands-on learning and nutrition education, our program helps them to achieve academic success and live a healthier life.

Cooking with Kids Inc.

Cooking with Kids educates and empowers children and families to make healthy food choices through hands-on learning with fresh, affordable foods. We aim to positively change eating behaviors, increase home cooking practices, and support public schools in their efforts to engage students in creative and cross-disciplinary ways. As we tell our students: We take care of ourselves when we cook; we use science and math when we cook; we learn about our world when we cook!
